Trump inciting chaos

Original article from: Forbes

The revelation that President Trump told Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward this spring that he publicly downplayed the danger of the coronavirus “because I don’t want to create a panic” has ignited a firestorm of criticism, and during a press briefing on Wednesday, the president doubled down on the issue, saying, “I don’t want people to be frightened,” however, since the very start of his campaign four years ago, Trump has repeatedly sought to stoke fear on a wide array of issues to win elections and maintain power. Here are some examples:

LEFT VIEWPOINTS

  • Trump incited panic when he claimed that migrant caravans were storming the southern border.
  • His campaign ads incited panic about the threat of socialism.
  • Trump incited panic by claiming antifa is a terrorist threat.
  • Trump’s entire presidency has been based on the foundation of generating a sense of fear among his base.

I am politically left by U.S. standards, although I'd be considered moderate in most European Countries. I believe in universal healthcare, a UBI, equal opportunity to education, and expanded democracy. I think the free market works best for most industries. However, I am convinced that some industries, such as healthcare and education, do not respond to market forces and should be publically funded. Additionally, I believe industries that damage and destroy the environment should be regulated. My views are my own, and they do not necessarily represent what other people on the left believe. In that sense, LeftViewpoint is "a" left viewpoint, not "the" left viewpoint.
