LEFT VIEWPOINTS

Donald Trump’s latest effort to sway the election and appear like a “law-and-order” president is to label Democrat-run cities as supporting anarchy. Is that true?

This is Bethel, Ohio. Watch the Black Lives Protestor get assaulted as police stood by and watched.

This happened in Oregon. The “Proud Boys” (a right-wing hate group) assaulted several BLM supporters. Again, the police failed to prevent the assault, and then they quickly released the assailants shortly after the incident.

This is Kenosha, Wisconsin, where police aided armed vigilantes during the BLM protests before Kyle Rittenhouse shot three people, killing two.

The common them is that Trump isn’t solving the anarchy problem. He is causing it.

We’ve experienced race-riots in this country before. This keeps happening because neither side has adequately addressed the wealth inequality and relative poverty that fuels them. But when do you remember riots breaking out throughout the country? When they happened in 2014, in Fergusson, Missouri, this is what President Obama said:

That’s how you diffuse a riot. Trump keeps stoking the flames, which is why it spread nationwide.

I am politically left by U.S. standards, although I'd be considered moderate in most European Countries. I believe in universal healthcare, a UBI, equal opportunity to education, and expanded democracy. I think the free market works best for most industries. However, I am convinced that some industries, such as healthcare and education, do not respond to market forces and should be publically funded. Additionally, I believe industries that damage and destroy the environment should be regulated. My views are my own, and they do not necessarily represent what other people on the left believe. In that sense, LeftViewpoint is "a" left viewpoint, not "the" left viewpoint.
