Three storm systems were named in the Atlantic on Friday, using the last name on the National Hurricane Center’s list for 2020 hurricanes and forcing the agency to start using names from the Greek alphabet.
Tropical Storm Wilfred was named late Friday morning and was just over 600 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, according to the National Hurricane Center. It poses no threat to land and is forecast to weaken over the Atlantic next week.
